Here is a story about ordinary heroes in a vehicle accident scene in Korea.

On September 2, a kindergarten bus full of students turned over on a slippery road inside a tunnel in Korea's southeastern city of Busan.

Fortunately, the bus driver and all passengers -- 21 preschoolers and an instructor -- were rescued in only five minutes, thanks to the unhesitant rescue work by passers-by as well as the prudence of having those on board buckled up properly.

Dash cam footage shows that as soon as the bus tumbled to the side in the tunnel, about a dozen people immediately stepped out of their cars to rescue the preschoolers after breaking the vehicle's side and back windows with their own hammers, golf clubs and other gears.

There were no reports of serious injuries and an investigation on the exact cause of the accident is under way, according to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency.

The Busan police agency said it has decided to grant letters of appreciation to the 11 citizens and the kindergarten instructor who contributed to the rescue work.

A new surveillance video shows a Las Vegas homicide suspect escaping from handcuffs last week in a police interview room.

The footage, shows the suspect, Alonso Perez, struggling to free his right arm from the cuffs on Sept. 2 and some 25 seconds later, breaking free.

Perez, 25, was recaptured on Tuesday around 8 p.m. after surrendering to police and FBI fugitive-hunters, who found him in an apartment several miles east of downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas police Officer Aaron Patty told.

On Friday, police say Perez was alone in a detective office interview room when he broke the hinge of his handcuffs and escaped with one cuff attached to a table and one cuff still on his right wrist.

Patty said a departmental investigation has begun.

"Now we can focus on preventing this from happening again," he said.
